Association between glycated hemoglobin and ambulatory blood pressure or heart rate in hypertensive patients / 中南大学学报(医学版)

OBJECTIVES@#To determine the association between glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and ambulatory blood pressure or heart rate in hypertensive patients.@*METHODS@#A total of 585 patients, who performed ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) from September 2018 to April 2019 in Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, were enrolled and assigned into 2 groups (470 in a hypertensive group and 115 in a normal group). HbA1c levels were compared. According to the HbA1c level, the hypertensive group was divided into 2 subgroups: A high HbA1c group (HbA1c≥6.1%, @*RESULTS@#The hypertensive group had higher HbA1c level than the normal group [(6.1±1.3)% vs (5.1±1.7)%, @*CONCLUSIONS@#In hypertensive patients, HbA1c is positively correlated with ambulate blood pressure, blood pressure load, and heart rate, and it has no correlation with blood pressure variability, heart rate variability, or morning blood pressure.

Changes of distal-less homeobox genes 5 and Msh homeobox 1 in a rat model of bisphosphonate related osteonecrosis of the jaw / 中华口腔医学杂志

Objective@#To further study the effects of distal-less homeobox gene 5 (Dlx-5) and Msh homeobox 1 (Msx-1) in the pathogenic mechanism of bisphosphonate related osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ) .@*Methods@#Twenty-four SD rats were divided into two groups, the experimental group was injected intraperitoneally with zoledronic acid for 12 weeks (0.2 mg/kg, three times a week), and the control group was injected with saline solution for 12 weeks. The first mandibular molars were extracted after 12 weeks. All of the animals were sacrificed eight weeks after teeth extraction. The BRONJ was diagnosed by gross observation, X-ray examination and histopathlolgical examination. Through real-time PCR, the expression level of Dlx-5 and Msx-1 were detected in the mandible of BRONJ samples and normal samples.@*Results@#X-ray examination and histopathlolgical analysis showed the presence of BRONJ. The results of real-time PCR showed that the expression levels of Dlx-5 were increased (P=0.001) and the expression level of Msx-1 was decreased (P=0.001) in the experimental group compared with the control group.@*Conclusions@#Dlx-5 and Msx-1 genes play roles in the pathogenic mechanism of BRONJ.

A primary study of curvilinear distraction osteogenesis / 实用口腔医学杂志

Objective:To seek the possibility of using internally installed curved mandibular distractor to repair the partial mandibular curved defect.Methods:A curved mandibular defect was sectioned in each of 3 adult dogs.The distractor designed by our own group based on the steel ball conducted force was implanted.After 7 days of latency,the distraction was performed at the rate of 0.5 mm × 2 times per day,followed by 3 months consolidation period.The osteogenesis was evaluated by general observation,X-ray examination and HE staining.Results:No complication was observed after operation and during distraction.The new bone healed well into a curved shape.The X-ray examination revealed that the transport disc moved along with the predesigned rail curve.HE staining clearly showed neo bone formulation zone between the mature trabecular and connective tissue.Conclusion:The internal distractor based on the steel ball conducted force can realize the curved distraction osteogenesis of posteriormandibular.

Effect of zoledronic acid on cell proliferation and apoptosis of human periodontal fibroblasts / 中华口腔医学杂志

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To observe the effect of different concentrations of zoledronic acid on human gingival fibroblast (HGF) cells proliferation and apoptosis, and to investigate the mechanism of bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ) caused by zoledronic acid.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Different concentrations (0, 0.5, l.0, 5.0, 10.0 µmol/L) of zoledronic acid acted on the HGF. After 24 hours, flow cytometry was used to detect the rate of apoptosis and methyl thiazolyl terazolium (MTT) assay used to observe the proliferation of HGF. The effect of different concentrations of zoledronic acid on cell proliferation was examined by proliferation test on day 2, 4 and 7.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Flow cytometry showed that when the concentration of zoledronic acid was 0, 0.5, 1.0, 5.0, 10.0 µmol/L, the apoptosis rate was (0.67 ± 0.50)%, (2.13 ± 0.21)%, (3.27 ± 0.23)%, (4.17 ± 0.35)%, (9.87 ± 1.79)% respectively. The difference in HGF cells between control group and zoledronic acid groups was significant (P < 0.05) at three concentrations of zoledronic acid (1.0, 5.0, 10.0 µmol/L). The cell proliferation test showed an concentration-time dependent effect. With increase of concentration and time, the cell proliferation was significantly inhibited. There was significant difference in absorbance value among the different concentration groups (P < 0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>Zoledronic acid can inhibit HGF proliferation and promote its apoptosis.</p>

Application of ischemia modified albumin and heart-type fatty acid-binding protein for the diagnosis and risk stratification of unstable angina / 国际检验医学杂志

Objective To determine the value of ischemia modified albumin,heart-type fatty acid-binding protein,B-type natri-uretic peptide and homocysteine in the risk stratification of patients with unstable angina pectoris;thus to provide an assessment for the condition of patients in clinic.Methods 135 patients with unstable angina were included in the disease group and subjected to risk stratification according to GRACE risk score software,70 cases of low-risk group,60 cases in the middle-risk group and 5 cases in the high-risk group.Another 145 healthy people were in the control group.The levels of ischemia modified albumin,heart-type fatty acid-binding protein,B-type natriuretic peptide and homocysteine were detected and compared.Results Between the control group and the disease group,significant difference of heart-type fatty acid-binding protein,B-type natriuretic peptide and homocys-teine was found (P 0.05).In the dis-ease group,the levels of ischemia modified albumin,heart-type fatty acid-binding protein and homocysteine in each risk stratification showed no significant difference(P >0.05).The level of B-type natriuretic peptide in high-risk group was higher than that in the low-risk group and in the middle-risk group and the difference was statistically significant (P 0.05 ).Conclusion The detection of heart-type fatty acid-binding protein,B-type natriuretic peptide and homocysteine possesses certain meaning in diagnosing unstable angi-na,and the level of B-type natriuretic peptide indicates the risk degree of the disease.
